Glanenig Care Home near Brecon offers residential, dementia and respite care, and with our new full time Activities Coordinator all of our residents can enjoy a programme that supports mental and physical stimulation to suit their needs.
Glanenig has a full programme of activities led by our wonderful activities coordinator, Emma. The individuality of each resident, as well as respect and compassion is considered when developing our activities programme.
We offer Zoom and Skype calls as part of our schedule. Activities include literacy club, crafts, gardening sessions, pet therapy, visits from local nursery schools, quiz sessions, bingo and some relaxed, quality time to have a chat over some beloved photos.
Next stop, we are planning an autumn fete and planting a sensory herb-garden.
We are always welcome to new ideas and suggestions. From visiting professional singers, sing-alongs, and a bit of dancing, we are always keen to bring something new to our residents.
Connecting family and friends always brings a welcome smile! We love to include relatives and friends in our activities and often use FaceTime and other video conferencing to help promote contact with family and friends who aren’t able to visit. Special family occasions can be arranged in the care home to enable residents to remain at the heart of special family events.
Special entertainment events take place throughout the year incorporating religious festivals e.g. Easter and Christmas, St David’s day, Valentine’s day, Mother’s day and Father’s day.
